         Is your old equipment making your business uncompetitive? Or is it simply costing a fortune in energy bills? Interest free loans give you the opportunity to modernise your business and reduce overheads.

         The unsecured loan that can pay for itself. Our business loans are unsecured and interest free, with no arrangement fees and a straightforward application process. Loans can be repaid over a period of up to four years and as the scheme is designed for energy savings to cover repayments, the loan will effectively pay for itself.

We can give £1,000 of loan for every 1.5 tC02 saved per annum from a project.

To be able to qualify for an interest free loan, your organisation must fulfil these criteria:

Private sector
Trading for at least 12 months
For project sites based in England, Scotland and Wales: All Small or Medium-sized Enterprises (SME) OR any business that do not qualify for participation in the Carbon Reduction Commitment
For project sites based in Northern Ireland: any sized enterprise can qualify

The EU definition of an SME is an organisation with:

Less than 250 full time equivalent employees
Less than €50m Turnover (approximately £43m) and/or less than €43m assets (approximately £37m)
No controlling interest of more than 25% by a non-SME

As a guideline, the Carbon Reduction Commitment typically includes businesses with an annual electricity spend greater than £500,000.

Salix delivers interest free funding to accelerate investment in energy efficiency technologies across the UK public sector.

         Salix can enable NHS trusts, universities, local authorities, central government and other public sector bodies to improve energy efficiency, attain emissions targets, reduce energy bills and raise green credentials. We do this by providing loans and ring-fenced conditional grants to make effective, long-lasting carbon saving projects happen in the public sector.

Provide funding for proven technologies which are cost effective in saving CO2 and will enable any further energy saving technologies to work at their best. Salix projects include LED lighting.

Once fully committed, funded programmes should deliver over £600m of energy bill savings and save nearly 3.5m tonnes of CO2 over their lifetime.
